The Workshop

About Riversideoh Garage Repairs

Founded in 2009, we've built a workshop around a straightforward idea: that car owners deserve clear, honest information and reliable workmanship without the uncertainty that often comes with taking a vehicle in for repair.

Our Story

How the Workshop Began

Martin Hardinge spent twelve years working as a technician and later a service manager at main dealerships across the region. During that time, he noticed a consistent frustration among customers: they often left the workshop unsure of exactly what had been done to their vehicle or why.

In 2009, he opened Riversideoh Garage Repairs at Avenida Cervantes 4 with a small team and a clear intention — to build a workshop where the diagnosis came first, the estimate was written before any work began, and customers could ask questions and get real answers.

The workshop has grown steadily since then, adding equipment and personnel as the workload has increased. The working model, however, hasn't changed.

How We Operate

Working Philosophy

Diagnose Before Recommending

We don't suggest repairs based on mileage or common patterns alone. Every recommendation is backed by actual inspection or test results. If we're not certain, we say so.

Written Estimates, Always

Every job has a written estimate before it starts. If additional work is discovered mid-repair, we stop and contact the customer. We don't proceed without approval.

Plain Language Explanations

Technical language has its place, but our job is to make sure you understand what's happening with your vehicle. We use plain language, and we welcome questions.

Quality Review on Every Job

Completed work is reviewed before the vehicle is returned. A second technician checks critical items — not as a formality, but because two sets of eyes reduce the chance of a missed detail.

Appropriate Equipment

We invest in diagnostic and workshop equipment that matches the vehicles we work on. Using underpowered or generic tools leads to incomplete information and slower work.

Ongoing Technical Training

Vehicle technology changes quickly. Our technicians undertake regular training — both through manufacturer programmes and independent technical courses — to stay current.

Development

The Workshop Over Time

Growth that's been steady rather than sudden, which has allowed us to maintain consistent standards as the workload has increased.

2012

Additional service bay added. Elena Sousa joins the team, bringing specialised knowledge in European marque electrical systems. The team reaches six technicians.

2019

Digital Alignment Equipment

Four-wheel digital alignment system installed. Jorge Méndez joins, handling engine-internal work and suspension repairs. Manufacturer training programme access established.

2023

Hybrid & EV Preparedness

High-voltage safety training completed by three technicians. Initial equipment for hybrid system diagnostics acquired. Workshops becoming more relevant as hybrid penetration grows in the regional vehicle parc.

Transparency & Customer Protection

We believe the customer should always understand what's happening and why. We don't carry out unrequested work, we don't estimate by guesswork, and we don't apply pressure. If you have a question about anything related to your vehicle or our process, ask — we'd rather spend time explaining than leave anything unclear.
